As Original Order Order Original: The Art and Archives of Bettina continues to unfold in the gallery, come by to meet the Rivers team and learn about the process of unearthing Bettina’s archives—with more unboxing events to come!

Created in collaboration with Rivers Institute for Contemporary Art & Thought, Original Order Order Original explores the art and archives of the artist known as Bettina (1927–2021) in an exhibition unfolding over the course of six months. As the largest and most extensive viewing of Bettina’s work, the goal is to uncover, to document, and to share an expansive selection of works across shared time. It is also to trouble the generative work of arrangement, itself—to probe how Bettina employed perpetual reorganization as a formal strategy and to exercise those same strategies in the care of her Estate.
